This facilitated 6-week online course offered by the Texas International Education Consortium is focused on the fundamentals of developing student-centered curriculum for the EFL (English as a foreign language) classrooms. The course is designed to help EFL (English as a foreign language) teachers identify and apply modern teaching approaches that motivate students, foster critical-thinking skills, and help students master 21st century skills and competencies. Participants will learn ways to incorporate Universal Design and other student-friendly scaffolds into lesson planning to accommodate and engage a wider range of students and arrange classrooms to facilitate student-driven communicative activities. Participants will create an action plan to help them implement student-centered instruction in their own classrooms.
